Consultation, loan and pre-registration

Consultation in the reading room is public and accessible to all.

A selection of 10,000 books, music CDs and DVDs are freely available in this area. Most of them can be borrowed directly.

In addition to this selection, the latest issues of 78 journals are also available for consultation.

The proposed documents are available in several languages.

Order online

With the online order in swisscovery, it is possible to reserve documents from the MEG Library. You will be notified by e-mail when they are available.

The documents can be returned to the MEG Library or by using the box in the Museum Garden. The box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Registration on swisscovery

To obtain a library card you must register on the SLSP platform.

An email address and a 10 character password are required. Once your registration has been finalised and activated, a card will be given to you free of charge when you visit the library. The swisscovery account associated with this card allows you to extend the borrowing period of the documents, change the password, consult the borrowing history and place orders.

Inter-library loans

Swisscovery also offers a paid interlibrary loan service.
