Collection of used smartphones and tablets against programmed obsolescence

Sunday 2 April 2023, 11:00

Des smartphones usagés sont déposés dans une boîte pour être recyclés

Do you have one or more old mobile phones left in a drawer? Bring them directly to the MEG. Foyer. Sunday 2 April, 11am-5pm.

In this "Rendez vous for reflection and action", we look at the subject of waste. What is its place in our daily lives? What is it? Where does it come from? Where does it go? What happens to it?
Do you have one or more old mobile phones left in a drawer? According to several estimates, 8 million phones are lying in our drawers throughout Switzerland (1 per inhabitant on average), a real urban resource mine.
Through the collection of used telephones, the NoOPs association offers them a second life. This allows us to take concrete action against programmed obsolescence and to protect the environment (reduced pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, limited extraction of natural resources, etc.).
A RECONDITIONED SMARTPHONE IS A PHONE THAT WILL NOT BE MANUFACTURED!
Come and drop yours off directly at MEG and discover the actions of the NoOPs association which fights against programmed obsolescence.
