Workshop

Workshop-discussion on green colonialism

Sunday 1 December, 14:30

Photo du haut plateau du Finnmarksvidda, dans l'Arctique norvégien, où a lieu le marquage annuel des rennes en vue de la migration hivernale. C'est aussi là que se précipitent les projets de transition énergétique.

Take part in a discussion at the heart of the exhibition Memories: Geneva in the colonial world. Temporary exhibition. Sunday 1 December, 2.30 pm to 4 pm.

Conservation of natural spaces, extractivism for the energy transition, environmental racism... How the dominant ecological discourse in reality hides capitalist and colonial practices.
Speakers to be confirmed.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it's free and there's no need to register in advance.
Through this series of 'think and act' events, we hope to help you tackle the issues of the climate emergency through the prism of MEG's specific characteristics. By tackling themes such as green colonialism, care, repair, food, clothing and the transmission of knowledge and know-how, we hope to make the impact that our everyday actions can have on the environment more perceptible, and thus question our relationship with it.
