Cycle: Meetings for reflection and action.

Although the exhibition halls are temporarily closed due to a water leak, this special day will still take place on Sunday 7 December from 10.15am to 6pm.

A day at the museum to ‘reflect and take action’ on the climate emergency.
For this 1st day of the month, the MEG is partnering with the Afropea Cultural Centre for a programme of events surrounding the temporary exhibition ‘Afrosonica – Soundscapes’.
Through this series of ‘think and act’ events, we hope to help you tackle the urgent issue of climate change through the prism of MEG's specific characteristics.
By tackling themes linked to MEG's exhibitions, we are trying to make the impact that our everyday actions can have on the environment more perceptible, and thus to question our relationship with it. By working with you, people who are active and committed to climate and environmental issues, as well as experts, artists, representatives of indigenous peoples, craftswomen and creative people, we are offering a programme of activities that provide practical tools for action and reflection, accessible and useful to everyone.

Programme for the day

• Reading area in the foyer from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Repair café at the community centre from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Wild instrument-making workshop in the auditorium from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• A collaboration with the Afropea Cultural Centre at the library:
• Sacred chanting ritual at 2pm by Maïlé Kalokura
• Zâr – sonic de-synchronicities from 3:15 p.m. by Mahmoud Khattab and Ahmed El Maghraby
• Poetry reading at 5pm by Nayansaku Mufwankolo

This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it is free and no prior registration is required.
