"Encounters" with the exhibition guests

Sur cette image, Denis Pourawa, un poète et écrivain kanak (Nouvelle-Calédonie), est dans la réserve des collections du MEG avec la conservatrice des collections Océanie. Denis Pourawa a devant lui une série de bambou gravé kanak. Il en prend un dans les mains et pose son regard dessus. Les bambous kanak mesure environ 1m20 de long.

During this celebratory weekend, visit the "Encounters" exhibition with the guests who took part! For this exhibition, twelve people from different communities were invited by MEG to tell the personal, important and often moving stories that link them to the Museum's collections. These stories are the result of a long process of interviews, reflections and discussions. Each guest has chosen an object from his or her community of origin.

3pm-4pm Denis Pourawa and Roberta Colombo Dougoud
Denis Pourawa is a Kanak poet and writer (New Caledonia); Roberta Colombo Dougoud is curator of the exhibition and curator of the Oceania collections at MEG.
4pm-5pm Chuu Wai and Damien Kunik - Visit in english
Chuu Wai is a painter, performer and human rights activist; Damien Kunik is curator of the Asian collections at MEG.
