Coming to the museum

TPG lines 2, 19. Museum of Ethnography stop

Your bus is going in the direction of Genève-Plage or Vernier-Village

The bus stop is at 60 Boulevard Carl-Vogt. As you get off the bus, turn left. Just a few metres further on, at the crossroads of Boulevard Carl-Vogt and Rue des Bains, cross a first pedestrian crossing on your left, then once on the other side of the street, take the pedestrian crossing on your right. You will arrive at the back of the Museum. Continue up Boulevard Carl-Vogt in the direction of Uni Mail for a few metres. On your left, a ramp will take you to the esplanade. The entrance to the Museum is exactly in the centre of the building's large bay window. It consists of two high mirror doors. Once you have passed through these and the next two doors, you will arrive in the entrance hall of the Museum. The reception and ticket office are on your right. Welcome to the MEG.

Your bus is going to Onex-city

The bus stop is located at 21 to 25 rue des Bains. The Museum is on the other side of the street. As you get off the bus, turn left. Just a few metres further on, at the crossroads of Boulevard Carl-Vogt and Rue des Bains, cross the pedestrian crossing on your left. You will arrive at the back of the Museum. Continue up Boulevard Carl-Vogt in the direction of Uni Mail for a few metres. On your left, a ramp will take you to the esplanade. TPG lines 1, 32. École-Médecine stop

Your bus is going in the direction of Petit-Bel-Air

The bus stop is at 18 avenue du Mail. As you get out of the bus, turn right. You will arrive at the crossroads of avenue du Mail and rue de l'École-Médecine. Turn left and take the rue de l'École-Médecine to the crossroads with boulevard Carl-Vogt. Cross the pedestrian crossing on your left and follow Carl-Vogt boulevard towards the junction for a few metres. After the Carl-Vogt primary school on your right, a ramp will take you to the esplanade. The entrance to the Museum is located exactly in the centre of the large bay window of the building. It consists of two high mirrored doors. Once you have passed through these and the next two doors, you will arrive in the entrance hall of the Museum. The reception and ticket office are on your right. Welcome to the MEG.

The MEG Building

0 : Reception and Ticket office - Coffee - Toilets - Elevators

Reception and ticket office are located to the right of the front door.

The Café du MEG is on the left side of the ground floor, with its terrace overlooking the garden.

The toilets are located in the corridor between the MEG Café and the ticket office on the left.

The elevators are located to the right of the entrance, at the end after the stairs leading to the lower floor.

1: Workshops for mediation and restoration of objects - Toilets

The Mediation Workshop is located in front of the elevators on the right. This space hosts various activities for the public such as creative workshops or birthdays, for example.

The restoration workshop of the objects, following the Mediation Workshop, is only open to the public on a one-off basis, during specific commented visits.

The toilets are on the right-hand side of the restoration workshop, between the workshop and the stairs leading to the upper floor.

2: Library Marie Madeleine Lancoux - the Music Lounge - the Bowl - the Pocket Theater

The Marie Madeleine Lancoux Library is on your right as you exit the elevator. Once you have passed through the electronic gate, the reception is on your left. The staff of the MEG Library will be pleased to accompany you to these places to help you discover, for example, the Music Loung, a space where you can listen to the thousands of hours of recordings from the International Archives of Popular Music.

-1: Auditorium - Lobby - Cloakroom - rooms Eugène Pittard and Marguerite Lobsiger-Dellenbach - toilets

Opposite the elevators, a staircase leads to the second basement.

All amenities are on your right as you exit the elevator.

The Lobby is the central open space. It is a place of passage but also of various activities.

The Auditorium is located on the left side of the Lobby opposite the main staircase.

The toilets are on the right of the Lobby opposite the Auditorium.

The cloakroom is at the end on the left of the Lobby.

The Eugène Pittard and Marguerite Lobsiger-Dellenbach rooms are located at the back left of the Lobby.

-2 : Exhibitions - toilets

As you exit the elevator turn left and follow the corridor that leaves immediately on your right.

The toilets are in this corridor on the right.

The permanent exhibition starts at the first crossroads on the right.

The temporary exhibition is located straight ahead, at the end of the corridor.
