The awakening of the Sound Archives #19: Petit Bizet's (from the Société des Ambianceurs) record playing

Petit Bizet (from the Société des Ambianceurs), has been carrying for 10 years now a project aiming at "rehabilitating" modern Congolese music via djsets of Congolese Rumba but also Soukous. Revisiting the Grand Kallé, Dr. Nico and Franco Luambo Makiadi through Tabu Ley Rochereau and Les Bantous de la Capitale all in vinyl format, the best hours of Kongo music are within hearing range. With the Société des Ambianceurs, we enter O.K., we leave K.O.!
The records played during this DJ set are issued from the Marco Botta collection, acquired by the MEG in 2011. It includes nearly 5000 LPs, published on a multitude of labels around the world, the majority of which date from the 1960s and 70s.
