Wednesday 20 July 2022, 15:00

Statuette d'éléphant, Inde, Bombay, 1889

Family visit to discover an aspect of the rich collections of the MEG. Library and permanent exhibition. Wednesday, July 20, 3 p.m.. In French only

As part of the "Partir en livres" programme, whose theme for this summer is friendship, let's discover the story of Siam, an Asian elephant, from his birth to his arrival in Europe, where he met Mr Ruppert who remained in contact with him until his death. After observing the elephant in the MEG's collections, commissioned by Gustave Revilliod and bequeathed by him in 1890, we discover the story of Siam in the library's music room. The visit ends by listening to sounds related to its history.

Places are limited and booking is obligatory by email to biblio.meg@ville-ge.ch, specifying your name, first name, telephone number and the number of people accompanying you.
