Conference - Meeting

Energy transition or green colonialism? Discussion open to all.

Sunday 2 June, 14:30

Photo du haut plateau du Finnmarksvidda, dans l'Arctique norvégien, où a lieu le marquage annuel des rennes en vue de la migration hivernale. C'est aussi là que se précipitent les projets de transition énergétique.

Energy transition or green colonialism? Take part in a discussion at the heart of the exhibition Memories: Geneva in the colonial world. Temporary exhibition. Sunday 2 June, 2.30 pm to 4 pm.

ONLY IN FRENCH
When the energy transition turns into green colonialism is the title of a journalistic investigation conducted for Heidi.news in 2021 by climate journalist Rachel Barbara Häubi.
What is green colonialism? What is sustainability if, in the name of sustainability, we prevent the sustainable practices of indigenous peoples from being perpetuated? How are the batteries in our future electric cars at stake in green colonisation, which is also being practised by Switzerland?
Join us for a discussion with climate journalist Rachel Barbara Häubi and Jo Morten Kåven, Sami artist, among others. The discussion is open to all and takes place at the heart of the temporary exhibition Memories: Geneva in the colonial world.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it's free and there's no need to register in advance.
